balloons and bassoons.

yesterday we (ramp) packed the car and headed for sandnessjøen! we hadn't really been there before, at least i hadn't. but nearly two hundred people showed up, and it was great though we had some technical problems etc. since i am the one that always has to sit alone in the back, i brought lots of balloons this time and filled them with air obviously. of course the guys got jealous and threw them out, even before i got to take a sweet picture. it looked like a clown got ran over i bet! at least i managed to put some of them all the way in the back so they wouldn't reach them. anyway, i had fun as long as it lasted.

pictures from the drive:

we also figured out that it would be sweet to purchase a trumpet or a bassoon, using money from the band. for some reason we actually did figure that out.

on saturday we will go to meråker near trondheim to play the first open air concert this year. lovely! and on sunday morning i will fly up to tromsø again to pick up my girl and all of her stuff. even more lovely.

your song.

i just heard "your song" by elton john on the radio when something struck me. it's breathtaking how many good songs that has been made through the years. think about it.

still the production is going well and good, and this is a list of records that i've been playing on my ipod recently.

the school - destructive sounds
röyksopp - junior
new violators - new violators
montee - isle of now
white lies - to lose my life
the dø - a mouthful
arcade fire - funeral
mastodon - crack the skye
datarock - red

ten days.

as i write this, it's 949028 seconds left. 15815 minutes till we're settled. 263 hours till we're actually where we've wanted to be for so long. ten days. and i'll come steal you in eight. both of us have been packed and ready to go for about two weeks. so impatient. so eager to get there. (get where?) sooo ready to make our own place pretty, like a cute little nest, and base our lives around that instead of coming and going all the time. the thing is that we're good together. so good. if we were a movie, i would watch it over and over again. i don't mean to brag or anything, and i don't need to either, but it's just how it is. it's simple though. it's love.

trouble.

not much to report from mosjøen really. kent said something about that it would be really sweet here if they blew up most of it.. especially the mountains surrounding it. maybe we're too used to them. the concert went well though, and it was the last one up here in a while, since we've been here quite often the last two years. no matter how much we like it, we don't want our audience tired of us.

there's a train leaving to bodø from here right now, and i really really wanna get on it. if i did, i could from there fly to tromsø and be there in like 6 hours. wouldn't that be sweet? when we're moving in together in a couple of weeks, everything will be so much better. then we don't have to say bye at the airport all the time. AND we can travel more together, which is super sweet.
for now i guess i have to just keep that in mind, and cuddle my duvet more instead.
by the way, you are in...

how could you do this to me? BIG trouble.
now i will put myself to sleep while watching a tv-show i guess (not friends tho, you can trust me) . night:)

vroooom.

so tonight we played in røyrvik, you know the exotic place i talked about in the previous post. we were done sound checking, and were starving as usual waiting for our porridge to get ready. haha, yeah they actually served us porridge. anyway, the backstage was in the back of a grocery store and it had a lot of them too. i couldn't get my eyes off this stack of cookie boxes in one corner, they were so colourful, shiny and really really attractive. i had to go there and check it out. they were called "vroooom" and i fell in love. as i looked closer, i figured out that they had all expired like a month ago, which is not very long for basically being made out of sugar, water and air. so i asked the manager of the store if we maybe could share a box, just as a starter before the porridge. he said "yeah sure... you know what, take all of it. but don't tell anyone! and at least don't hand it out to small kids you don't know!" so we ended up with more than 80 tin boxes of cookies. OH!!! and we saw a cow on the road.

one of the sound guys is obviously happy about getting payed in cookies instead of real money.

cow.

porridge.

and, i don't really wanna talk about the actual concert, though some really drunk sixteen-year olds seemed to like it.

airborne.

i am on my way from northern norway back to trondheim to play a couple of gigs this weekend. exotic røyrvik will be victimized when nameus wants to try rockin’ it on friday and mosjøen is up next with ramp on saturday. flying norwegian, ironically enough, i am surrounded by a very questionable group of people speaking a language i find it even harder to place geographically. they all have sweaty, smelly armpits, and i have no problems imagining that they’re kinda hairy too. somehow one of the guys found it reasonable that the plane will crash and he seemed to be very excited about it. it’s sweet how body language is so international, especially when we just heard over the speaker that the flight time will be twice as long caused by really bad weather. plus i will probably be stuck at the airport waiting for a train that will be there an hour before me, being the only one “connecting” this late at night. anyway… i should focus on something else in the meantime. what about giraffes? i might think about giraffes. i am actually thinking about them right now. poor guys. imagine being a giraffe having a cold! they have long throats right? …or one being afraid of heights. when i think about it, i guess i can’t really say i’m not better off being human and flying anyway. among these.. these.. god, they are russians! i thought i heard them say something about putin. haha i can’t wait to get to someplace i can hook my computer up to some dirty wireless network to share this lousy post on sweaty russians and sick giraffes, when it’s supposed to be about something way sweeter. i will try better next time. i promise.

pilot.

so this is my first post. i decided to start blogging because i got too tired of waiting for my love sweetpea while she's writing her posts, as she's getting more and more into it every single day. which is not a bad thing. i love reading it and i guess i've been mentioned lately too. i've been trying to figure it out for a while, what this blog should be about, and finally i decided to share with you my travelling experience through out norway and also various countries in which we book gigs within. plus if something else is on my mind, i guess i wont think twice before putting it on here. even though i'm norwegian, i will try my very best to please whoever out there blessed with better grammar than me, and since i will be living with my cute canadian girlfriend from now on i'm hoping for some expertise there too.

for now, here's a picture from one of my bands, nameus', last tour in the czech republic; just as a sample of what my blog will feature:

..and my other band ramp's tour de' afghanistan, summer 2007:

anyway, i hope you will enjoy the following posts or at least let someone bribe you to keep reading about me and my life as a working class rock'n'roll hero.
